Ebonyi Leads South-East in Voter Registration Efforts

Stanlei Okoro Emegha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, declared that Ebonyi is currently leading in the ongoing voter registration across the South-East zone in preparation for the 2027 general elections. In an interview following a stakeholders' meeting in Abakaliki, Emegha emphasized the need for the state to maintain its status in the voter registration exercise.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide additional voting machines to address the current shortage, as the existing machines are insufficient to accommodate the population. Emegha highlighted the importance of engaging local government chairmen and tertiary institutions to facilitate voter registration, ensuring that people are registered to vote.

He stressed that it is crucial for the people of Ebonyi to participate in the electoral process, stating that they should not only register but also care about voting, as their participation is vital for the state's representation in the upcoming elections.
