Ebonyi Man Found Dead After Endorsing APGA Candidates

Amos Ubochi, a 70-year-old man, was discovered dead along a bush path in Ebonyi State shortly after publicly endorsing candidates from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on 17 August 2023. Ubochi had led a prayer session with community elders before going missing.

According to Joshua Ukandu, spokesman for the Ebonyi State Police Command, Ubochi left his residence on Monday and did not return. The police received information about his body being found on Tuesday and subsequently evacuated it to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, where he was confirmed dead.

Ukandu assured the public that the police would take all necessary steps to investigate the incident thoroughly. The circumstances surrounding Ubochi's death, particularly its timing after his political endorsement, have raised concerns within the community.
