Nwifuru Backs Tinubu, Denies Candidate Imposition Rumors

Francis Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, has publicly dismissed rumors regarding plans to impose a candidate for the 2027 general elections. He encouraged voters to support the electoral process, assuring them of transparency based on their wishes.

This statement contrasts with earlier comments made by Stanlei Okoro Emegha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, who advised aspirants to consult the governor before purchasing nomination forms and indicated that requests for refunds from unsuccessful aspirants would not be entertained. Nwifuru made his remarks during a solemn wedding ceremony for his younger brother, Paulinu Nwifuru, at the Immaculata Govern House Chapel in Abakaliki.

He clarified that he would not endorse any aspirant for the upcoming elections except for President Bola Tinubu, highlighting his commitment to supporting development projects in Ebonyi State. Goodluck Obinna Mbam, a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, also expressed his backing for Tinubu.
