PDP's Ifeanyi Odii Launches Empowerment Scheme for 3,420

Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, unveiled a ward-level empowerment scheme targeting 3,420 individuals as part of his campaign efforts for the 2027 governorship election. Announced during a pre-campaign council and strategic stakeholders meeting of the Anyi G’Emeya Movement in Abakaliki, the initiative plans to empower 20 people in each of the state's 171 wards.

Odii stated that this empowerment would extend to polling units, with ward leaders overseeing beneficiary selection. He emphasized that the initiative is foundational for his campaign, which will progress from the state level to local government areas and wards.

Odii's administration, if elected, aims to transition Ebonyi from subsistence activities to an industrial economy, focusing on job creation, agribusiness, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. He proposed various schemes and projects, including an Agro-Industrial Park and merit-based recruitment, as part of his vision for a "new Ebonyi State." Odii emerged unopposed as the PDP's candidate for the 2027 election, securing 8,281 votes in the May primary.
