PDP's Ifeanyi Odii Launches Empowerment Scheme for 3,420

Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, unveiled a ward-level empowerment scheme targeting 3,420 individuals to establish grassroots support ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The announcement was made during a pre-campaign council and strategic stakeholders meeting of the Anyi G’Emeya Movement in Abakaliki.

Odii stated that 20 individuals would be empowered in each of the 171 wards, with plans to extend the initiative to polling units. He emphasized that this empowerment scheme is part of the preparations for the formal commencement of the party's campaign.

Odii's proposed administration aims to transition Ebonyi from subsistence economic activities to an industrial and investment-driven economy, focusing on job creation, agribusiness, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. He also proposed merit-based recruitment and transparent governance as part of his vision for a "new Ebonyi State." Odii emerged unopposed as the PDP's 2027 governorship candidate, polling 8,281 votes at the May primary.
