Ebonyi Politicians Resign from APC and APGA Amid Changes

In a significant political shift in Ebonyi State, several prominent politicians have resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The resignations follow a consensus arrangement for candidacy in the upcoming National Assembly elections.

Notable figures who left the APC include Chief Christian Asaga, Chief Chibuik Orogwu, and Emmanuel Ofok, with resignation letters dated May 1, 2026, and March 12, 2026, respectively. Chief Orogwu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve within the party.

Meanwhile, Prof. Bernard Odoh, a former vice chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, resigned from the APGA, citing insufficient alignment with the party's developments.

His resignation letter, dated May 4, 2026, was addressed to the APGA chairman of Omeg Ward in Ezza North Local Government Area. Odoh emphasized the need for coherent leadership within the party structure to ensure effective stewardship.
