Ebonyi Commissioner Felix Igbok Defects to PDP Ahead of 2027

Felix Igbok, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Project Monitoring, announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his defection to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday. Igbok described his return to the PDP as a homecoming, emphasizing the need to align with a political platform that can effectively promote inclusive development in the state.

He expressed happiness in returning to a party that has historically served the interests of the people. Igbok's defection is seen as a significant boost for the PDP, especially with the upcoming 2027 general elections, as he brings with him approximately 10,000 supporters.

The state chairman of the PDP, Chukwuma Igw, welcomed Igbok, stating that his return strengthens the party's position to reclaim power in the next electoral cycle. Eni Uduma Chima, a PDP candidate for the Afikpo Edda Federal Constituency seat in 2027, noted the party's rapid growth and increased public confidence in its leadership.
