EBSU to Withdraw 72 Students Over Poor Academic Results

Ebonyi State University (EBSU), through Dr. Victor Usanga, the head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, has recommended the withdrawal of 72 undergraduate students due to poor academic performance.

This decision affects 41 students in the 100 level, 31 in the 200 level, eight in the 300 level, and two in the 400 level. Additionally, 10 students have been placed on academic probation.

The cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) of the affected students range from 0.00 to 2.44. The Student Union Government (SUG), led by President Chika Abraham Nwuhuo, has expressed concern regarding the withdrawal list, advocating for adherence to due process and transparency in the university's decision-making.

The SUG emphasized the importance of verifying results before public dissemination and urged affected students to remain calm while engaging constructively with university authorities.
