University of Ibadan Withdraws 226 Students for Poor Grades

The University of Ibadan's Senate has approved the withdrawal of 226 undergraduate students due to poor academic performance for the 2024/2025 academic session. This decision was made during a meeting on Monday, as confirmed by Mr.

Adejok Akinpelu, the Director of Public Communication at the university. The students affected have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 1.0, which is part of the university's normal academic appraisal process.

The breakdown of the affected students includes 79 from the Faculty of Science, 45 from the Faculty of Technology, 35 from the Faculty of Agriculture, 18 from the College of Medicine, 10 from the Faculty of Education, 9 from the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, 4 from the Faculty of Arts, 3 from the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, 2 from the Faculty of Law, 3 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and 3 from the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management.
