University of Ibadan Withdraws 226 Students for Poor Grades

The Senate of the University of Ibadan has made a significant decision to withdraw 226 undergraduate students for the 2024/2025 academic session due to their abysmal academic performance. This decision was confirmed by Mr.

Adejok Akinpelu, who stated that students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 1.0 were advised to withdraw from the institution. The withdrawal affects students across various faculties, including 79 from the Faculty of Science, 45 from the Faculty of Technology, 35 from the Faculty of Agriculture, 18 from the College of Medicine, and 18 from the Faculty of Education.

Additionally, students from the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Environmental Design and Management were also included in this decision. The university's normal academic appraisal process led to this outcome, which restricts these students from accessing the university's portal for further registration.
