Edo Deputy Governor Calls for APC Unity Ahead of Elections

Denni Idahosa, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, emphasized the need for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) while unveiling the party's candidate for the Ovia South West local government area. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fridai Aghedo.

Idahosa praised the party's leadership for selecting Iguobazuwa as the candidate for the chairmanship ticket in Udo Ward. He noted that the arrangements are aimed at preventing crises within the party and promoting equity, fairness, and peace among its ranks.

He commended the people of Ovia South West for their belief in internal democracy, highlighting that Udo Ward has historically produced council chairmen. The APC's selection process involved several meetings, leading to the preferred candidate, Osarobo Anthoni, being chosen.

Idahosa acknowledged the challenges faced by the youth in the area and urged party members to work together ahead of the local government elections scheduled for July 11, 2026, as confirmed by Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, the chairman of the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission.
