Edo APC Suspends Ex-Senatorial Candidate

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Hon Valentine Asuen, the former chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission and a senatorial candidate for Edo South in the 2024 general election. The party cited Asuen's alleged indiscipline conduct, which was deemed detrimental to the unity of the party.

According to a statement signed by the state publicity secretary, Barr Peter Uwadiae, the decision to suspend Asuen was made after careful consideration of his actions, which were seen as a direct violation of the APC constitution. The party accused Asuen of engaging in activities that incited division and undermined the collective spirit and loyalty expected from a member.

The suspension was carried out in accordance with Article 21 of the APC Constitution 2022, which outlines disciplinary measures for members whose actions threaten the stability of the party.
