Tension in Edo as APC suspends Gov Okpebholo’s aide

The Edo chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Valentine Asuen, an aide to Governor Monday Okpebholo, for alleged acts of indiscipline that were deemed detrimental to the party's unity. Asuen, who was appointed as the Chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission in April, reportedly caused tension within the APC following his suspension.

The decision to suspend Asuen was made after a review of his actions, which were found to violate the party's constitution. The APC emphasized its commitment to internal discipline and democracy, stating that any behavior that threatens the party's stability will not be condoned.

The party also clarified that Asuen's appointment was not influenced by Governor Okpebholo, urging members to remain united and focused on good governance and delivering democratic dividends to the people.
