CISLAC Enhances Child Protection Framework in Edo State

On Tuesday, CISLAC (Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre) and its partners intensified efforts to strengthen the child protection system in Edo State. This initiative is part of the Edo State Child Rights Program, supported by the European Union, aimed at reinforcing the implementation of the Edo State Child Rights Law.

During a coordinating meeting held in Benin City, Solomon Adoga, the program manager at CISLAC, emphasized the importance of developing a structured framework to advance the implementation of the child rights law. The meeting brought together critical stakeholders to review progress and establish a clear work plan outlining key priority areas, assigning responsibilities, and setting measurable targets within specific timelines.

Eugenia Abdallah, from the Edo State Commission for Women Affairs and Social Development, highlighted the need to strengthen the child protection system to ensure that vulnerable children receive the protection and care they deserve.
