Edo Community Accuses BUA Cement of Exploitation and Illegal Mining

The Imiokp community in Okpella, Edo State, has accused BUA Cement Plc of exploitation, illegal mining, and manipulation without transparency. The community alleges that BUA Cement has been unlawfully extracting limestone and other minerals without valid agreements, failing to pay adequate royalties, and neglecting social benefits to the affected community.

The community demands compliance with mining laws, cessation of manipulative practices, negotiation of legitimate agreements, and compensation for years of alleged exploitation. Failure to comply may lead to legal action and license revocation.
