Edo State Issues Ultimatum to Youth Leaders Over Violence

On Wednesday, the Edo State Government announced a seven-day ultimatum for three youth leaders, identified as Okiaghel, Obazagbon, and Okunoze, to report to the Special Security Squad. This directive follows allegations linking them to renewed cult-related violence and killings in Benin City.

The statement, signed by Chief Press Secretary Dr. Patrick Akher Ebojel, emphasizes the urgency of their surrender to clarify their involvement in recent violent incidents.

The Special Security Squad, represented by spokesperson Eribo Enwanta, indicated that Obazagbon is wanted following the recovery of weapons and live ammunition from a Toyota Highlander Jeep allegedly driven by the community's Chief Security Officer, Mr. Godspow Obayuwana, who is a cousin of Obazagbon.

The government has made it clear that failure to comply will lead to their arrest.
