Edo Lawmaker Supports Speedy Trial of Kidnapping Suspects

Edo Central Senator Joseph Ikpea has endorsed Governor Mondai Okpebholo's proposal for the speedy trial of kidnapping suspects in Edo State. In a statement issued on Saturday in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area, Ikpea praised the governor's crackdown on kidnapping syndicates, particularly highlighting the successful rescue of a woman abducted from a popular vegetable market in Benin City.

The Edo State Police Command, alongside Okpebholo, conducted a parade of the suspects involved in the kidnapping incident. The governor facilitated the establishment of a special court to conduct the speedy trial of these suspects, including those linked to the vegetable market abduction.

Ikpea emphasized that the swift actions taken by the governor send a clear signal to criminal elements that there is no safe haven in the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with the state government to ensure the safety of residents in Edo Central.
