Edo Obidient Movement Faces Leadership Crisis with No Confidence Vote

The Edo State chapter of the Obidient Movement has experienced a leadership crisis as the state executive committee passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in state coordinator Comrade Asemota Igiogb. Allegations against Igiogb include administrative failures, abuse of office, and running the movement in an autocratic manner, sidelining executive decisions.

A joint statement from aggrieved executive members accused Igiogb of pursuing personal political ambitions at the expense of the movement's objectives. Furthermore, it was alleged that Igiogb held meetings with political actors without the knowledge or approval of the executive committee.

Concerns were raised about fostering divisions within the organization and the potential for conflict of interest due to ongoing police investigations into allegations of forgery and impersonation. Despite the vote of no confidence, Igiogb dismissed the action as illegitimate, claiming it was sponsored by individuals working against the movement's ideals and its leader, Peter Obi.
