Edo Queens Receive Support Ahead of CAF Qualifiers

Edo Queens, a women's football club, are gearing up for the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B qualifiers in Burkina Faso. Chief Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, the club's chairman, has initiated a campaign for prayers across Edo State, booking Masses in all Catholic churches to seek divine intervention for the team's success.

He urged other Christian denominations and Muslim communities to join in these prayers, emphasizing that the team represents the hopes and aspirations of Edo people and Nigeria. Tenebe appealed to Edo indigenes, both at home and abroad, to support the team, particularly encouraging those in Burkina Faso to attend matches.

He highlighted that the qualifiers are a pathway to the prestigious CAF Women’s Champions League, which would elevate the profile of women’s football in Edo State. Tenebe advised the players to remain focused and disciplined, assuring them of the club's leadership support and expressing a desire for the team to return home victorious.
