Free Medical Outreach in Edo City Benefits Thousands

A free medical outreach program, titled ‘Eye Can See,’ was conducted in Benin City, benefiting thousands of residents. This initiative was organized by NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Seplat Energy Joint Venture in collaboration with Edo Specialist Hospital (ESH).

The three-day program aimed to enhance access to quality eye care and improve vision among residents of Edo and Delta states. Chioma Afe, Seplat Energy’s Director of External Affairs and Social Performance, stated that the initiative reflects the company's commitment to better healthcare outcomes and sustainable development in host communities.

Services provided included free eye screenings, surgeries, prescription eyeglasses, basic medical checks, and dental care. Dr Antonia Inibukun-Njoku, Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital, emphasized the partnership's role in expanding healthcare access.

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, represented by Dr Andrew Iyamu, praised the initiative for complementing state healthcare efforts. Beneficiary Victoria Okoduwa expressed gratitude for the free services received.
