NNPC and SNEPCo Provide Free Eye Care in Badagry

The 'Vision First Plus' initiative, organized by NNPC and SNEPCo, successfully provided free eye care services to more than 1,000 residents in Badagry over two days. On the first day alone, 583 patients registered, with 462 undergoing nursing triage, 377 receiving laboratory services, and 180 having general consultations.

Additionally, 219 individuals received non-surgical eye care, and 38 residents underwent successful eye surgeries, restoring sight to those with treatable conditions. Community leaders expressed a desire for a permanent clinic to be established, offering land for Shell, NNPC, and SNEPCo to build the facility.

A permanent secretary suggested a modest health insurance contribution of ₦15,000 per resident to extend the program's benefits beyond the initial outreach. The initiative emphasized the importance of good vision for daily life and creativity, positioning the Badagry exercise as part of NNPC's broader commitment to community health.
