Edo Leaders Commit to Advancing Education Development

On a recent courtesy visit to the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yekini Idaiye, newly sworn-in Commissioner for Education, Hon. Washington Osifo, pledged to enhance collaboration between the legislature and the education ministry to foster development in Edo State's education sector.

Idaiye urged Osifo to leverage his experience to reposition education in the state, emphasizing the need for collective efforts from all stakeholders for sustainable progress. He assured Osifo of the House of Assembly's support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the education system, aligning with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE agenda focused on human capital development.

Idaiye acknowledged Osifo as the first public official to congratulate him since becoming Speaker. Osifo reciprocated by congratulating Idaiye, recognizing his leadership qualities and political acumen.

He emphasized that meaningful development in Edo requires collaboration among key institutions and stakeholders, assuring Idaiye of his commitment to maintaining Edo's status as a leader in education.
