Edo Governor Okpebholo Marks 35 Years of Development

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Edo State's creation, Governor Monday Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa reaffirmed their commitment to the state's development. In a statement by Chief Press Secretary Patrick Ebojele, Okpebholo congratulated Edo people and emphasized the importance of unity and resilience.

He highlighted the SHINE Agenda aimed at accelerating development and acknowledged contributions from past administrations and stakeholders. Reflecting on the state's creation on August 27, 1991, Okpebholo noted the anniversary as a chance to assess progress and renew commitments.

He outlined initiatives including enhanced collaboration with security agencies, healthcare improvements, increased funding for Ambrose Alli University and Edo State University, teacher recruitment, ongoing road rehabilitation, and urban renewal projects. Additionally, he mentioned efforts to expand power generation, specifically citing a 100-megawatt project at Ologbo to improve electricity supply for industrial development, which is crucial for economic growth and job creation.
