Education Minister Alausa Inaugurates NBTE Governing Board

On Wednesday, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Abuja, reaffirming the Federal Government's commitment to repositioning Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as essential for Nigeria's industrialization and economic competitiveness.

This event aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes education and human capital development. Dr.

Alausa highlighted the need to shift from traditional paper qualifications to producing skilled graduates capable of driving industrial growth. He congratulated the Board members, emphasizing their professionalism and integrity.

The Minister outlined four key priorities for the Board, including providing strategic leadership and accelerating the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) framework to certify skilled artisans. He stressed that TVET is a national priority and essential for meaningful industrialization, requiring sustained investments and reforms to bridge the gap between education and industry.
