Alausa Inaugurates NBTE Board to Boost TVET Reforms

On Thursday, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Abuja. He reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to repositioning Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as essential for Nigeria's industrialization, economic competitiveness, and youth empowerment.

This event aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes education and human capital development. Alausa emphasized the need to transition from an overreliance on paper qualifications to producing skilled graduates capable of driving industrialization and entrepreneurship.

He congratulated the Board members on their appointments, citing their professionalism and integrity. Alausa outlined four priorities for the Board, including providing strategic leadership and accelerating the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) framework in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund.

He stressed that TVET is a national priority and essential for developing a skilled workforce to support Nigeria's economic growth.
