Edwards Wins MVP in New NBA All-Star Game Format

Edwards was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the newly formatted NBA All-Star Game, which took place in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard scored 32 points, along with nine rebounds and three assists, earning the Kobe Bryant trophy during the 75th edition of the NBA All-Star Game.

The event introduced a round-robin tournament format consisting of four 12-minute games, featuring young players and veteran stars. Edwards, 24, played alongside Oklahoma City Thunder's Chet Holmgren, who scored eight points, and his teammate Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers, who contributed nine points.

Despite a slow start, Edwards led his team to a 12-1 lead and later a 15-0 run, ultimately defeating veteran players. LeBron James, the all-time scoring leader, made his 22nd All-Star Game appearance.

The new format received mixed reviews, with former President Barack Obama in attendance, as some critics expressed concerns about the effort displayed during the game.
