EFCC Charges Ski Hi Entertainment CEO with N16.8m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Ifeanyichukwu Ogbu, the Chief Executive Officer of Ski Hi Entertainment, before Justice Vincent C. Ezeugwu at the Enugu State High Court.

The arraignment, which took place on August 9, 2024, involves three counts of fraud related to the issuance of dishonored cheques totaling N16,847,000. The charges allege that Ogbu intended to defraud Zenith Bank PLC by issuing a cheque for N5,530,000, which was dishonored due to insufficient funds.

Ogbu pleaded not guilty to the charges. The EFCC's counsel, Michael Ikechukwu Ani, requested a trial date, while Ogbu's defense counsel, Chikelu Anya, sought bail for his client.

The court, however, remanded Ogbu in custody at the Nigerian Correctional Service in Enugu and adjourned the matter until July 16, 2026, to hear the bail application. The allegations stem from claims made by Obi Onwuakor, the front office manager of Ski Hi Entertainment, regarding unpaid bills totaling N17,424,600.
