EFCC Arraigns Ski Hi Entertainment CEO for N16.8m Fraud

Ifeanyichukwu Ogbu, the Chief Executive Officer of Ski Hi Entertainment, was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Enugu State High Court on August 9, 2024. He faces three counts of fraud related to the issuance of a dud cheque amounting to N16,847,000.

The charges allege that Ogbu issued a cheque for N5,530,000 drawn on Zenith Bank PLC with the intent to defraud, which was subsequently dishonored due to insufficient funds. Ogbu pleaded not guilty to the charges through his counsel, Michael Ikechukwu Ani.

The presiding judge, Justice Vincent Ezeugwu, adjourned the case to July 16, 2026, for a bail application hearing and ordered Ogbu to be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service. The EFCC's investigation into Ogbu's activities followed a complaint from Obi Onwuakor, who alleged that Ogbu had failed to settle a hotel bill totaling N17,424,600, with only N1 million paid via three cheques that were also dishonored.
