TICC Accuses EFCC of Interfering in Osun Election

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) on Wednesday condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly interfering in the upcoming governorship election in Osun State. They criticized the EFCC's decision to freeze the Osun State Government’s account just ten days before the election, labeling it a significant abuse of authority and an attack on the citizens.

Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the TICC Media and Publicity Committee, stated that this action undermines the political expression of over five million citizens and disrupts essential government functions such as salary payments and public health interventions. He accused the EFCC of politically motivated actions that weaponize its authority to exert economic pressure on the people of Osun.

The TICC called for the immediate unfreezing of the account to allow governance to continue and for citizens to exercise their democratic rights without coercion.
