EFCC laments as ex-governor's N3.1 billion fraud trial enters 10th year in Abuja Court

The trial of former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, for a N3.1 billion fraud case has entered its 10th year at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Suswam, alongside Omodachi Okolobia, is accused by the EFCC of diverting funds from the sale of Benue state shares.

The defense's request for a three-week adjournment was opposed by the EFCC counsel, citing a decade-long delay in the case. Justice Peter Lifu expressed frustration over the prolonged proceedings.

The defense was given two months to prepare, with the case set to continue after the annual court recess.
