EFCC Marks Malami's Abuja Property for Forfeiture

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has marked a property in Abuja associated with former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, for forfeiture. This action follows a court order for interim forfeiture and is part of the EFCC's routine enforcement procedures, as explained by spokesman Dele Oyewale.

The marking serves to inform the public of the property's legal status and is a standard law enforcement action when a court grants such orders. The EFCC dismissed claims of conducting a raid on the property, asserting that their actions are lawful and within their jurisdiction.

Malami has publicly confronted EFCC officials regarding the legitimacy of their actions, demanding to see the court order related to the forfeiture. He accused the agency of attempting to tarnish his image and stated that the matter remains in court.

The EFCC maintains that they are authorized to mark properties for forfeiture regardless of whether the process is at the interim or final stage.
