EFCC Investigates Prophet for N70.39m Fraud Allegations

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced an investigation into Godwin Sundai Ajuluchukwucheya, a self-proclaimed prophet known as Prophet Sundai Koboko, over allegations of defrauding church members of N70.39 million. The EFCC disclosed this information in a statement on Wednesday, detailing that the Enugu zonal director is handling the investigation.

Allegations suggest that Ajuluchukwucheya obtained money from church members through various schemes that promised spiritual interventions and investment opportunities. A petition by Okei Uwakw claims that Ajuluchukwucheya collected N6.23 million to persuade a brother living abroad to return to Nigeria and received N3.25 million for helping a childless sister-in-law conceive after 15 years without a child.

Furthermore, the cleric allegedly announced that ministry members won a N33 billion lottery, encouraging financial contributions with promises of dividends. The total amount allegedly collected from church members stands at N70.39 million, with the EFCC indicating that the investigation is ongoing and charges will be filed upon conclusion.
