Prophetess Charged with N4.19m Visa Fraud in Osogbo

Bunmi Ateji Toyin, a self-acclaimed prophetess, was arraigned on July 21, 2026, by the Osun State Police Command before a magistrate court in Osogbo. She faces allegations of obtaining N4.19 million from four individuals—Oke Olubunmi Francis, Taliat Musa, Oladimeji Rasidat, and Babatunde Mijisola—under false pretenses related to travel visa processing between 2024 and 2026.

The prosecutor, ASP Akintunde Jacob, stated that Toyin, who is not a licensed travel agent, collected a total of N4,190,000 with the promise of securing visas but failed to deliver or refund the complainants. The charges include conduct likely to breach peace and fraud, punishable under Sections 419 and 243 of the Criminal Code of Osun State.

Magistrate Oyindamola Daramola granted Toyin bail set at N2 million, requiring two sureties: one a registered business owner and the other a civil servant not below Grade Level 12. The case is adjourned to August 28, 2026, for further hearing.
