Egypt Hosts Talks for Regional Peace with Key Nations

On Sunday, Egypt hosted a meeting involving foreign ministers from Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia in Cairo to discuss regional peace and stability. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to support the implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed earlier in the week between the United States and Iran, aimed at ending conflict and promoting diplomatic engagement.

High-level negotiations were set to begin in Switzerland, involving Washington and Tehran, following a ceasefire deal. However, these talks were postponed due to ongoing attacks in Israel and Lebanon.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the intensified coordination among the four countries and stressed the importance of ensuring the success of the negotiations. This was the fourth ministerial meeting of the quartet, which aims to conclude a deal to end the conflict that began on February 28, following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, initiating a 60-day negotiation period that includes broader issues such as Tehran's nuclear program.
