Trump and Sharif Announce Potential Peace Deal Today

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a preliminary agreement aimed at ending the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, with expectations for a signing today.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported this claim, stating that a peace deal could be finalized within 24 hours. However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei contradicted this, asserting that negotiations were not ready for a signing ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland.

Trump expressed confidence in a breakthrough and outlined expectations for the agreement, which includes guarantees against Iran acquiring nuclear weapons and ensuring unrestricted access to the strategic Hormuz Strait. Meanwhile, Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abba Araghchi, characterized the proposed memorandum of understanding as merely a framework for future negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program, rather than a comprehensive settlement.

The situation remains unclear, with both sides offering differing accounts of the negotiations' progress.
