Sokoto Police Enhance Security for Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

The Sokoto State Police Command has announced heightened security measures in anticipation of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations to ensure the safety and orderly conduct of festivities for residents. Commissioner of Police Ahm Musa conveyed this assurance in a statement on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of peaceful celebrations.

Police spokesperson DSP Ahmad Rufa congratulated the Muslim community and urged residents to celebrate peacefully. The command has implemented adequate security arrangements, including intensified patrols and intelligence-driven operations across the state.

Police personnel will increase their visibility in strategic locations during the festive period to deter criminal activities and boost public confidence. Special attention will be given to typical offenses that may rise during this time, such as phone snatching and pickpocketing.

Parents and guardians are advised to monitor their children closely to prevent disorderly conduct, and residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the nearest police station. A large number of personnel will be deployed in collaboration with security agencies and community leaders to ensure a peaceful celebration throughout the Sallah period.
