Cross River Police Enhance Security for Eid-el-Fitr

The Cross River State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Rashid Afegbua, has ramped up security operations across the state in response to the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Afegbua has directed area commanders and divisional police officers to deploy tactical teams for surveillance and patrols to monitor criminal activities during this festive period.

He emphasized the importance of conducting operations in strict adherence to the standard operating procedures of the Nigeria Police Force and warned against any attempts to disrupt public peace. Additionally, Afegbua confirmed the deployment of personnel and resources to strategic locations to enhance security coverage and urged residents, particularly those of the Muslim faith, to celebrate with restraint and dignity.

In a goodwill message, Governor Bassey Otu congratulated the Muslim community on successfully completing Ramadan, highlighting the values of humility, generosity, and unity that should be upheld during the celebrations.
