Sokoto Police Enhance Security for Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

The Sokoto State Police Command has announced increased security measures in preparation for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, which mark the end of Ramadan. In a statement issued on Wednesday by the police public relations officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa, the Commissioner of Police, Ahm Musa, extended warm greetings to the Muslim community and urged them to celebrate responsibly.

The police have implemented adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful and joyous celebration across the state. The Commissioner has directed area commands and divisional police officers to intensify patrols and conduct intelligence-led operations throughout Sokoto.

Special attention will be given to common festival crimes such as phone snatching, pickpocketing, and traffic violations, which tend to increase during this period. Parents and guardians are advised to monitor their children to prevent reckless behavior.
