FRSC Launches Special Patrol for Eid-el-Fitri 2026

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated a special patrol operation scheduled from March 17 to March 22, 2026, in preparation for the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations. This operation, ordered by Corps Marshal Shehu Moham, aims to ensure safe travel for motorists during the festive period characterized by heavy vehicular movement as Muslims travel to celebrate with family.

The operation will focus on reducing road traffic crashes and maintaining smooth traffic flow on major highways across Nigeria. It will involve increased patrol visibility, deployment of rescue teams, and intensified public enlightenment campaigns to guide motorists.

The FRSC plans to maintain 24-hour patrol operations along critical road corridors and will utilize various assets, including ambulances, tow trucks, and patrol vehicles. The operation will also target major traffic violations such as speeding and lane indiscipline.

Additionally, the FRSC will collaborate with security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Fire Service, to ensure rapid response to emergencies and maintain order on the highways.
