FRSC Launches Easter Patrol for Safe Road Travel 2026

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the commencement of its Easter special patrol, scheduled to run from April 1 to April 8, 2026. This initiative aims to ensure safe and smooth movement for road users during the holiday period.

The patrol, as stated in a Wednesday announcement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Felicia Kalu, and Corps Marshal Shehu Moham, will focus on high-risk and high-traffic routes across Nigeria, including Lagos, Ibadan, Sagamu, Benin, Abuja, and others. The FRSC anticipates an increase in vehicular and human traffic due to the Easter celebrations.

The operation will enhance traffic flow and ensure rapid emergency response, with personnel and logistics strategically deployed along major corridors. The FRSC will intensify enforcement against traffic violations such as speeding, overloading, and the use of mobile phones while driving.

Compliance with seat belt and child restraint laws will be strictly monitored. The Corps will also deploy mobile courts along major routes to ensure prompt prosecution of offenders, reinforcing compliance with existing traffic laws.
