Kwara Leaders Unite for Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

On Wednesday, during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, thousands of Muslims gathered at the ancient central Eid prayer ground in Ilorin, Kwara State. The prayer session commenced at 9:40 AM, led by Imam Abdullahi Abdulhamid.

Notable attendees included Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Senator Saliu Mustapha. This year's Eid marked the first major gathering in Ilorin following the death of the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Bashir Saliu, on January 19, 2026.

Governor AbdulRazaq congratulated the Muslim community and urged them to embrace sacrifice, patience, and peaceful coexistence. He also paid tribute to the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, and called for prayers for Nigeria amid ongoing security and economic challenges.

Saraki emphasized unity and support for the less privileged, while Kale Kawu extended his felicitations to the Muslim community. The event was characterized by heavy security presence from various agencies.
