FRSC Deploys 950 Officers in Kwara for Eid-el-Kabir

In preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 950 officers across Kwara State. This initiative aims to ensure safer highways and facilitate the free flow of traffic during the festive period.

The operation, which runs from May 25 to May 31, 2026, includes the deployment of 16 patrol vehicles, four ambulances, and 70 tow trucks as part of a special patrol operation. Olayinka Basambo, the spokesperson for the Kwara State sector command, stated that this exercise is part of proactive measures to reduce road crashes during the festive period.

Sector Commander Kabiru Kazeem has ordered strategic deployment of personnel in major highways and traffic-prone areas within Ilorin. The operation is designed to ensure safer roads, prompt rescue services, and quick clearance of obstructions to improve traffic management.

Kazeem also warned motorists to strictly adhere to traffic rules during the celebration, with intensified enforcement against offenses such as overloading, dangerous driving, and seatbelt violations.
