IGP Orders Nationwide Security for Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

On Wednesday, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, issued a statement announcing a massive security deployment across Nigeria in preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The directive aims to enhance security and ensure peaceful festivities for Muslims nationwide.

Disu emphasized the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to safeguarding lives and property during this period. The police will implement proactive measures, including the strategic deployment of tactical teams and intelligence operations at Eid prayer grounds, highways, motor parks, recreational centers, and other critical public places expected to witness heavy human traffic.

The IGP urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and support security agencies by reporting suspicious activities, such as unattended bags or unusual gatherings. He also released dedicated emergency contact lines for public use.

Disu extended Eid greetings to Muslims, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
