Jigawa Police Enhance Security for Eid-el-Kabir Celebration

The Jigawa State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Haruna Yahaya, has ordered Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to secure praying grounds and markets ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, the police assured residents of robust security measures to guarantee a peaceful and safe festive period across the state.

The command has deployed various personnel, including violent crime response units, patrol teams, intelligence operatives, traffic officers, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units, and undercover operatives to critical locations such as praying grounds, recreational centers, markets, highways, motor parks, and other public places. CP Yahaya urged residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel, while also advising parents and guardians to caution their wards against reckless driving and substance abuse during the celebrations.

The Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah's command.
