Jigawa Police Enhance Security for Eid al-Kabir Celebrations

The Jigawa State Police Command has announced the deployment of tactical units across Jigawa State to ensure adequate security arrangements for the forthcoming Eid al-Kabir celebrations. Commissioner of Police Haruna Yahaya issued a statement on Tuesday, assuring residents of the measures in place.

The police will deploy personnel to strategic locations, including Eid prayer grounds, markets, highways, recreational centers, motor parks, and other public places to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration. Tactical units, including the Violent Crime Response Unit, patrol teams, intelligence operations, traffic officers, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, will be mobilized across the state.

The command has intensified intelligence gathering and will conduct stop-and-search operations and surveillance activities in collaboration with other security agencies. CP Yahaya directed area command divisions to remain vigilant and respond promptly to distress calls.

Residents are urged to cooperate with security agencies and to caution children against reckless driving and substance abuse during the celebrations.
