Military Warns of Possible Terror Attacks During Eid

On Monday, the Theater Command, represented by spokesman Lt. Col.

Sani Uba, issued a warning regarding possible terror attacks in North East Nigeria during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations. Credible intelligence suggests that remnants of Boko Haram and elements of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) may attempt to exploit the festive period to carry out attacks against civilian targets, including the use of suicide bombers in areas with high population concentrations.

The command advised the public to conduct Eid prayers at home or in familiar local settings to avoid large gatherings. Citizens are urged to exercise heightened vigilance in public spaces such as markets, motor parks, banks, and prayer grounds.

The Theater Command further instructed the public to report any suspicious individuals, unattended objects, or unusual movements to the nearest military checkpoint, police station, or civil-military liaison point. The military reassured residents that troops are on standby to ensure security during the festive period.
