Nigerian Security Forces Arrest Eight Suspected Kidnappers and Drug Peddlers in Edo State

In Edo State, eight suspects involved in kidnapping and drug peddling were arrested on February 4 during a clearance operation named "Operation Igbo Danu State." The operation, conducted by troops from the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, Edo State Police Command, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, successfully flushed out terrorists and rescued kidnapped victims in Osara Community in the Etsako West Local Government Area, Auchi, and Okpella Community in the Edo North Senatorial District. The suspects, identified as Jamilu Mohammad, Kasim Abu, Braimoh Affeez, Sulaiman Hamisu, Lawan Umaru, Bawa Auwal, Musa Umaru, and Amodu Attai, were found in possession of weapons, drugs, and other illicit items.

The recovered items included firearms, ammunition, drugs like codeine syrup and cannabis, as well as drug paraphernalia. The Edo State Police Command is conducting further investigations into the case.
