Troops Kill Eight Terrorists in Katsina Attack Foil

On an unspecified date, troops from the 17 Brigade, Sector 2, Hybrid Force successfully thwarted a planned terrorist attack on commuters along Kakumi Guga Road in Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State. The operation resulted in the death of eight suspected terrorists.

The troops acted on credible intelligence regarding an impending assault by terrorists loyal to notorious kingpin Idi Abasu Aiki. As the terrorists approached their target area on five motorcycles, the troops swiftly mobilized and set an ambush.

A fierce gun battle ensued, leading to the neutralization of the eight assailants. Following the engagement, the troops conducted an exploitation operation in the area, recovering two AK-47 rifles and five motorcycles allegedly used by the terrorists.

The troops are maintaining aggressive patrols and surveillance across the region to prevent any retaliatory attacks on nearby communities and to restrict the movement of terrorist groups throughout Katsina State and the wider northwest region.
