Eight Victims of Plateau Night Attack Laid to Rest

On a Friday, eight victims of a night attack in Mbwell Village, Bokko Local Government Area, Plateau State, were laid to rest. The attack took place around 11 PM when gunmen invaded the community and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in multiple fatalities.

The victims included Elder Iliya Mangut Daku, Mr. Luck Titu Daku, Mr.

Habila Istifanu Daku, Mr. Hassan Istifanu Daku, Mr.

Hassan Mose Daku, Biggi Lucki Daku, Sundai Gideon Daku, and Mr. Innoc Barnaba Makwin.

The burial ceremony was conducted by Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who addressed mourners, emphasizing the need for peace among the community.

The victims were predominantly members of the Catholic Church, with a significant number also belonging to the Christ Apostolic Church, COCIN, ECWA, and Pentecost Church. The attack has heightened tensions in the community, with local leaders expressing anger over the lack of security presence during the assault.

Ongoing security operations in the state have reportedly neutralized ten terrorists in Wase and Kanam LGAs.
