Gunmen Attack Mourners in Plateau State Mass Burial

In Plateau State, gunmen attacked mourners during a mass burial in the Ndung community, resulting in the deaths of six people, including four women and a nine-year-old boy. This incident occurred on a day when residents were already grieving the loss of six victims from a previous attack on Tuesday night, where gunmen killed an entire family of five.

Rwang Tengwong, the public secretary of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, confirmed the attack and expressed alarm over the ongoing violence in the region. The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the Tuesday night attack and announced the deployment of additional tactical teams to restore calm in Barkin Ladi.

Bassei Ewah, the state commissioner of police, condemned the killings and urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security operations. Meanwhile, in Kogi State, gunmen launched another attack, killing one resident and injuring others, further highlighting the escalating violence in the region.
